May 5th & 6th,1955

May 5th, 1955

It rained all day today. The lilies are ruined, the gutters are overflowing. I pushed a lamp over in frustration.

 May 6th, 1955

I apologise for my candid attitude yesterday. I was bothered by the weather. I broke the light bulb in the lamp I pushed over yesterday. I feel awful about it. My nephew found it yesterday evening, he cleared the glass and placed the lamp in the corner of the room. I spent most of the day looking for a replacement bulb, but I am yet to find one. I suppose I will continue my search tonight when everyone is asleep.

Most of the outdoor plants have been ruined from yesterday’s storm, there are leaves everywhere. Unfortunately, using a rake would be out of the question for me, floating garden tools would likely result in a séance. I can push the leaves around with my hands however, as this just looks like the wind. I pushed most of the leaves to the side of the path and cleared the stairs. It’s a relaxing task.
